Adult Christian Education

There are many options for adults to deepen their faith through studying God's Word and building bonds of friendship among fellow Christians. Below you will find a listing of the classes we have to offer.  These classes meet from September through May except for the Joel Moody Class which meets every Suinday. 
  • Adult Fellowship Class is a group of men and women (singles/couples, middle to older adult) that focuses on the Bible using the PC-USA curriculum, The Present Word.
  • Alice Broome Class for women (middle to older adults) - The Present Word serves as a basis for this Bible study class.
  • Christian Spirituality Class (singles/couples, younger to middle aged adults)  reads and discusses the lectionary passages for the week.  Occasionally, we explore some aspect of faith formation as to how it applies to life:  work, money, relationships, community service, etc.  Informal gathering and sharing begins at 9:30 AM in room 312. Devotion and discussion begin at 9:45 AM.  
  • Frank Haasis Class (all ages) hosts guest speakers, hear presentations, and discusses issues of faith and life. New movements in theology, becoming a fully inclusive community, and peacemaking initiatives in the church are some of the current issues for discussion.
  • Genesis Class is open to men and women of all ages to discuss particular books of the Bible and related biblical scholarship.  This year's study will be the book of Revelation.
  • Joel Moody Bible Class is primarily, but not exclusively, a men's class (middle to older adult). Teacher Maurice Farrier presents a study of scripture using The Present Word, a PC-USA curriculum, as a guide.
  • The Bible from Scratch (for individual of all ages) This entire year will focus on a study of the Epistles of Paul.  During the spring we will study Paul:  His Life and Thought, as well as Paul’s Journeys.  We use the Thoughtful Christian series.  We encourage folks seeking a fun, engaging Bible study to visit us.
