The Reverend Allen Proctor, Presbyterian Campus Minister

Rev. Proctor served pastorates in Raleigh and Cary prior to becoming the Presbyterian Campus Minister in 1990. As Campus Minister, he coordinates ministry, educational programs, fellowship, community outreach and mission work for students at N.C. State University and other area schools such as Meredith College and Peace College. Allen holds degrees from Davidson College (B.A. in English Literature), Gordon-Cornwell Theological Seminary (M.Div., cum laude) and was the recipient of a Masland Fellowship to study Social Ethics at Union Theological Seminary.

In addition to his work as Campus Minister, Rev. Proctor is a co-founder and board member of Hearts with Haiti, Inc., chair of the Chaplains’ Cooperative Ministry (NCSU), and Executive Committee of the Presbyterian Prison Ministry of the Raleigh Correctional Center for Women Chaplaincy. He currently serves on the Campus Ministry Committees of the Mid-Atlantic Synod and the Presbytery of New Hope, and the Executive Committee of the Carolina Interfaith Task Force on Central America. He is a member of the N.C. Presbyterian Higher Education Ministries and Covenant Network of Presbyterians.

Allen has two children who are college juniors. His son, Stephen, is a student at Julliard School of Music in New York. His daughter, Jesse, attends Appalachian State University.
