Peace and Justice

As people of faith, we believe that justice is the path to peace and that all people are valued and loved by God. We believe that we are faithful to the teachings of Christ when we are engaged in peacemaking and when we nurture and equip God’s people as peacemakers.
WRPC seeks to study and pursue peacemaking. We hope to promote discussions about relating Christian values to life in the family, the church, the community, and the nation. We also seek to be a resource within the church for communication and conflict resolution.

The Peace and Justice Committee of West Raleigh offers classes, retreats, prayer vigils, and special services of worship to support WRPC and the community in this vision for promoting God's peaceable Kingdom.

Recently, one of our worship services that focused on Peacemaking received the Peacemaking Offering. Twenty-five percent (25%) of the Peacemaking Offering for 2007 was sent to Hustead House, a small-group care facility in Raleigh for AIDS patients.
